Tim is an East Providence native and began his playing career with the East Providence Merchants in 1994. He went on to play premier soccer with Bayside in 1996. Tim continued his playing career at East Providence Senior High School in 1998. He was selected 2nd Team All Division in 1999 and 1st Team All Division and 1st Team All State in 2000.
He went on to play college soccer at St. Joseph’s College in 2001 and finished his collegiate career at Rhode Island College in 2002 through 2004.
Tim will be responsible for developing and leading the youth academy for the association.
Michael Medeiros, born and raised in East Providence, began playing youth soccer in East Providence when he was 7. After playing in the various local youth soccer leagues Mike eventually played for the East Providence Merchants and then joined as an inaugural member of the Sporting Club of East Providence from the age of 10 until he reached East Providence High School.
Mike went on to play for all four years at East Providence High School where he won the Coach’s Award in his sophomore and junior year, and then was selected 2nd Team All-State and team captain his senior year. During his high school playing days, Mike also played with the Bayside United Premier Soccer Club, winning the state championship each year, and was a member of the 1985 Rhode Island State Olympic Development team.
Upon graduating from East Providence High School in 2003, Mike attended Boston College earning his Bachelor’s degree in 2007 and his Master’s degree from Bryant University in 2009. Mike currently lives in neighboring Pawtucket and is a Certified Public Accountant working in Providence. His soccer passion continues until this day as he is a season ticket holder for the New England Revolution and continues to play in local men’s leagues.
Zach Pereira has been involved in East Providence soccer since the age of 4 first as a player then as a coach, and finally as a coaching instructor. Zach has also served as a strength and conditioning coach for Bayside FC premier soccer.
He played collegiate soccer at Springfield College earning All-Conference and All New England honors. He graduated with a Master’s degree in Physical Therapy and has been practicing as an orthopedic clinical specialist in Swansea, MA for the last seven years. Zach utilizes the Move2Perform analysis system on a regular basis in order to analyze an athlete’s risk of injury compared to their peers as well as their ability to move well functionally.
Zach brings a wealth of knowledge in sports performance and soccer development to our club. He is very passionate about soccer and strives to instill that passion for sport and wellness in his athletes. Zach has been a lifelong resident of East Providence, currently living in Rumford with his wife and three children, and is excited to help provide the ideal soccer program to the athletes of East Providence.
