Pericles

Pericles Vieira

Pericles Vieira is an East Providence native. As a youth he played soccer for AYSO and LAZA. He is not only a graduate of East Providence High School but was also a member of the soccer team for all of three years. He enjoyed playing midfield,  and his all time favorite player is Zineden Zidane.

Pericles began his coaching career with Bayside United (2012) and found out that he truly enjoyed it, especially developing the players. He was recruited to coach for the East Providence Oceaneers and knew that it would be a great opportunity to give back to the youth and the city he grew up in. He coached with his assistant coach Anthony Barrionette, the E.P. Oceaneers from 2013-2016, winning both titles in his final season, the Rhode Island Super Cup and the Super Liga Championship.

He is always telling the  parents how grateful he is for their dedication because it starts with the parents. He has been fortunate to have the majority of same group of players throughout his Oceaneers seasons. He is passionate about the game and focuses on developing the players not only on the field but also as leaders in every aspect of their lives off the field.

Pericles is a Graduate of the University Of Rhode Island with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology and Minors in Business Management and Portuguese. He is currently in the process of pursuing his Masters Degree in Management and is employed with one of the largest financial institutions in the United States. His favorite quote is “Talent will get you there, but character will keep you there.”
